What will make a good film trailer
A good film trailer will set a certain pace and tempo creating a specific atmosphere for the set genre. It will introduce character and dialogue. Will Identify the setting and surroundings and will make a clear justification on who the target audience is. This could be primary or secondary. The music include will have to be of which the audience can relate to and is relevant and suitable to the trailer. In certain trailers there will be an enigma code. Trailers will also apply recognisable conventions and also verify them.

Working with Voiceovers
I created a VoiceOver for a parqour documentary based on the introduction of the sport into the Olympic games. Having done this task has enabled me to use the experiences learnt and can now apply them to my horror film trailer. When doing this task I learnt it was a whole lot more beneficial to have a plan written out (StoryBoard). This allowed me to refer back to my work incase there were any hiccups. Having a VoiceOver creates a sense of realism and creates great dramatic effect. In my horror film trailer I would only have a VoiceOver as a narration to my sequence. I learnt that having a voice over is very powerful and effective as an audience member as it gives you more of an insight to what you are viewing. We looked at documentaries and how they use voice overs, we looked at Louis Theroux, a famous journalist for the BBC. When watching the documentary I learnt that having a voice over was like the voice of God as this plays a key part of the story telling. This will be extremely vital to my horror trailer as it will play a key part in telling the story.

Producing sound
Foley sound is sound created after the dramatic sequence. This sound is often created in a studio or is just added in by editors using audio presets. Adding foley sound enables great dramatic effect, an example of our group using this effect was creating a dramatic punch or slap. Foley sound is created after the sequence as the additional sound cannot be created during the filming as the environment may not be suitable or equipment is unavailable. Having done this task was very beneficial as I can apply the foley sounds into my horror trailer as horror is a specific genre that consists of unnatural, mysterious sounds. The slapping sound in the video was created after using the imovie audio input microphone, we made a clear clapping sound with our hands in order for it to stand out.
The silent film about movie sound.
This is a video demonstrating the use of foley sound and how the actors were able to create every single sound created on the screen, live.

Continuity Editing
Continuity editing is vital when creating a video sequence as the video must run smoothly together making the editing cuts seem unnoticeable. We had the task of editing together a car toppling over due to herd of sheep. In my sequence I used a variety of editing techniques and different camera shots. I used shot reverse shot between the driver and the sheep. I also integrated eye line match with this shot as it allowed the audience to feel the perspective of the driver. I used the tracking long shot of the car on the side of the road as this allows the audience to identify the setting and surroundings of the car and how fast it was going. For the toppling of the car I used a slow motion effect and a variety of different camera angles as this created great dramatic tension.
Another example of an continuiting edit was the beach, a girl walking towards a boy on his mobile.

Reflection
Over the past remaining weeks of media we have been learning about the importance of a storyboard. That storyboards play a key part into editing as they give you an idea of how specifically you are going to shot a certain scene. Having a storyboard enabled the group to refer back to the plan of our sequence. This meant our piece would not seem improvised or out of context. We were all given the task of (the meeting) an were given six storyboard blanks to think of an idea. Here is my storyboard and final edit.
